A Fuji apple in-orchard study in central Washington, using Vitazyme four times, proved that apple size, weight, pressure, and Brix all increased for both sampling dates: August 12 and October 6. Final size increase was 9%, weight was 22%, pressure was 3%, and Brix was 1.221 percentage-points. Assuming that fruit set was similar for both treatments, then total yield of apples would have been improved by about 22%, proportional to the increase in fruit weight. This program is shown to be highly effective for increasing apple yield, income, quality, and storability for apple growers in Washington.
